Headshots

I was priviliged one day to be able to do a head shot session of an actor I was working with. I was quite pleased with the results. I used a 24mm to 70mm L canon lens and it did not let me down. I was working under very cloudy conditions (dark) and had to use mostly an aperture of 2.8, I also had my partner helping me with a white bounce card.

Testing my new Canon G11 compact camera

I bought this camera as my 24/7 back up camera that goes with my everywhere. I just don’t want to miss any more opportunities.

So here is what I have started with as a test run.

Good News in Stock Photography

This article caught my attention in the PDN magazine.

The business model for this agency is very refreshing and innovative. It is nice to see someone working with the photographers

Baby photos

I was strolling along at a dog park when asked by a parent of a 19 month old child if I would take photos of him. I was more than happy to take this little challenge on, the lighting was great, the child (named Vasco) was having fun getting his photos taken. He was a natural.

Vasco having a great time!

As you can see, he was not the least bit camera shy.

Visiting friends and dogs!

It was with great pleasure that I got to visit my friends who have no less than 3 dogs. I was filled with joy at the prospect of playing with them and of photographing them.

Below is Indie, the very independent type.

Now comes Tucker, who is always avoiding the camera.

Let’s not forget Sophie, the dog in camo.

Encroaching upon wildlife

While driving along the highway back to Vancouver from Kamloops on the 3A, I came across this deer. The deer was stuck between the highway and the fence. I got out of my vehicle with camera in hand but also because I was concerned it might try to cross the highway. Much to my relief it found another way out.
